| Days 1–2 Northeast Harbor |
Meet in Portland. Shuttle to Northeast Harbor. Spin past quaint seaside cottages and soak up views of Somes Sound, the only fjord on the Atlantic Coast. Explore Acadia National Park by bike, discovering meadows, mountains and beaches. On Mount Desert Island pedal over arched bridges and quiet carriage roads that were a gift from philanthropist John D. Rockefeller Jr. Watch the sunrise from Cadillac Mountain, reputedly the first United States location to see the rising sun. |
| Days 3–6 Camden |
Shuttle to Castine, a historic village with beautiful architecture, a sandy tidal beach and quaint antique shops. Sail on Penobscott Bay in style aboard a private charter boat. Purchase local crafts or homemade blueberry jam in the shops on Camden’s Main Street. Accompanied by our local guides, kayak on Penobscot Bay, keeping an eye out for harbor seals, bald eagles, loons and ospreys. Ride into the heart of Rockland, home of the Farnsworth Homestead and the Farnsworth Museum with its collection of Wyeth family paintings. Trek up to the summits of Mounts Megunticook and Battie for vistas of the bay and the islands that inspired poet Edna St. Vincent Millay and launched her literary career. |

“Why
go West,” asked legendary writer Henry David Thoreau, “when Maine has everything?” The
Pine Tree State is indeed blessed with an abundance of natural splendors—rocky coastline, lakes, mountains,
rivers, islands, forests and beaches. Breathe crisp clean air and delight in weathered fishing villages where
life still rings with old New England charm. Bike to hidden coves and along quiet country lanes and kayak
past classic yachts and historic estates. And top off your day with succulent lobster. Come experience the
same enchanting world that charmed Thoreau so long ago.
