Nicaragua

Coastline of a Nicaraguan Island

Welcome to Nicaragua, rich green tropical land of mountains and volcanoes, lakes and rivers, lush rain forests and broad sun swept beaches. Nicaragua is the largest of the Central American republics. Her neighbors are Costa Rica on the south and Honduras on the north; this sparkling isthmus is bordered by the Caribbean on the east and the Pacific on the west. It is a warm and friendly land of lakes and mountains; rivers and volcanoes, sea and sun. The country is divided into three geographic regions: the Pacific Lowlands on the west, the mountainous Central Region and the Atlantic Lowlands on the east. (centralamerica.com)

Morgan's Rock Hacienda & Eco-Lodge

Morgan's Rock Hacienda & Eco-Lodge

Morgan's Rock Hacienda & Ecolodge is more than just a hotel. It is a project of nature conservation, community development and reforestation offering Agro- and Ecotourism at its best. The hacienda is located just north of San Juan del Sur, about two hours from the colonial city of Granada in southern Nicaragua. Endowed with a private, white-sanded beach visited by sea turtles to lay their eggs, the hacienda also hosts its own primary tropical dry forest ecosystem. Morgan's Rock Hacienda and Eco Lodge is part of a full-scale tree farming, reforestation and conservation project that extends over 1,800 hectares. Tropical woods were used to build the fifteen bungalows at Morgan’s Rock. All proceed from responsibly managed logging sources or tree farming projects in Nicaragua, ensuring artistic yet ecologically responsible built bungalows. The fifteen bungalows face west; most of them letting you revere dramatic sunsets disappear into the Pacific Ocean. The surrounding forest adds privacy and peace to each unit. Most bungalows sit on a cliff overlooking the private bay and estuary. While they have been soundly designed to offer shelter from rain, sun or wind, each bungalow breathes nature. Some even have a tree growing out through the roof and all enjoy an indoor beach garden hosting your own private outdoor shower. All hotel bungalows feature one king size bed, a comfortable sofa bed and a private deck. The architect has carefully used mainly local materials and the wooden furniture was custom made by local artisans. Even the quaint lamps have been made out of recycled wood from a former cattle ranch at Morgan’s Rock. The bungalows are connected to the main lodge by an awesome 110-meter suspension bridge crossing a forested canyon. Request a Quote!
